SMARTKITE urges all the citizens of India to stop using SINGLE-USE PLASTIC.
To initiate this drive, little volunteers of SMARTKITE organised a rally at Sec-15 market, Faridabad on 14th September’19, in association with MWA and RWA sec-15, wherein our volunteers:
1)Distributed 1000 cloth bags to Vegetable Vendors.
2)Put up 80 posters, painted by them, the school going children , all over the Sec-15 Market, which shall urge customers coming to the market to stop using plastic bags and to bring cloth bags with them from their house. (even the posters are made on bio-degradable cloth and wood, no use of flex or plastic sheets have been made)
3)Motivated the shopkeepers to stop giving away plastic bags
4)Our volunteers met the shopkeepers, took a promise from them to shun the usage of plastic bags for the sake of MotherEath and tied a COMMITMENT BAND on their wrists.
5)After the rally our little volunteers shall visit each of the 1200 houses of Sector-15 and motivate the residents to stop using single-use plastic, by way of giving away handmade brochures stating “Why Single-use Plastic is the biggest threat to the next generation?”
By carrying out these activities on a regular basis, for the next few months, we believe that we can curb the usage of Single-use Plastic to a big extent by motivating not only the vendors but also the customers to start using cloth bags, instead of Plastic Bags. This way SECTOR- 15 MARKET, FARIDABAD, SHALL BE THE FIRST MARKET IN THE WHOLE DISTRICT AND IN THE WHOLE STATE OF HARYANA, TO BE PLASTIC-FREE!
We are extremely thankful to Sh. VIPUL GOELji, Minister for Environment, Government of Haryana, for being an inspiration to SMARTKITE’s Drive and sending a very impactful message to “STOP USING PLASTIC BAGS”, all across Haryana. He also donated 1600 jute bags, to be distributed to the residents of Sec-15, Fbd.
